As of Jan. 31, 2020, employers should begin using Form I-9 (version 10/21/2019). Access the updated Form I-9 is available on the IRS website: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a new version of Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification). Dated 10/21/2019, the new version includes minor changes to the form and its instructions. Employers can use the previous version (Rev.07/17/2017) until April 30, 2020, providing time to make necessary updates and adjustments to business processes. The version date is located in the lower-left corner of the form.

Form I-9 is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must properly complete Form I-9 for each individual they hire. Learn more: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9
