Community Involvement

Building a stronger sense of community

Our communities are where we live and work, making our clients and colleagues our neighbors. We take pride in these communities and constantly strive to make them even better through sharing our time, our interest, and our financial resources.

In addition to the numerous organizations our employees volunteer with on a regular basis, each year Hawkins Ash CPAs employees select one cause to which the firm sponsors eight volunteer hours per employee. During these community service days, we make it possible for every staff member to participate.

2020 Theme: Beautification and Conservation

Community Service Day 2020Now—perhaps more than ever—the changing of seasons offers a perfect time to find beauty in the environment that surrounds us. In this vein, the theme for this year’s annual employee community service campaign is “Beautification and Conservation.” On select days throughout the rest of September and coming up in October 2020, employees of all nine Hawkins Ash CPAs offices will have the opportunity to help make a difference and “leave it better than they found it!”

Socially-distant activities scheduled so far include:

Green Bay, WI: On Broadway, Inc. (downtown neighborhood cleanup)

La Crosse, WI: Quarry Hill Nature Center, Oak Savannah Restoration Project

Manitowoc, WI: Manitowoc County Historical Society fall cleanup outside of building

Medford, WI: Annual storage room office cleaning and community shred event (Oct. 22)

Stay tuned for updates about our team.

2019 Theme: Compassion, Care and Love for Animals

In 2019, employees chose to donate their time and holiday donations to causes that promote and inspire compassion, care, and love for animals in our local communities. We donated just more than 550 hours of volunteer time and $5,760 to charities with that mission. Organizations we supported include the following:

Green Bay, WI: NEW ZOO and Happily Ever After Pet Shelter

La Crosse, WI: Coulee Region Human Society, HorseSense, Clearwater Farms, Capable Canines

Manitowoc, WI: Lakeshore Humane Society and Lincoln Park Zoo

Marshfield, WI: Marshfield Area Pet Shelter and Hart Equine Therapy Center, Inc.

Medford, WI: WIGM/WKEB Christmas Wish Program

Mequon, WI: Wisconsin Humane Society and Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC)

Rochester and St. Charles, MN: Paws & Claws Humane Society

Winona, MN: Winona Area Humane Society
