The recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will have a profound impact on our philanthropic landscape: a reduced ability to itemize deductions for charitable gifts, decreased federal subsidies for charitable giving, and fewer incentives for tax-motivated estate bequests. Nonprofits will need new strategies to focus their requests for support. Join Jon Pratt, Executive Director for MN Council of Nonprofits, for a presentation on the new law, implications for Minnesota nonprofits, and a look forward on the philanthropic landscape.

Then explore the financial implications of fundraising events to better plan for proper accounting of funds. Are you correctly tracking and valuing donations, establishing controls to protect the money you raise, accounting as required for capital campaigns, and meeting all reporting requirements? Come learn how to stay organized financially and how that can help to make your fundraisers more successful and build trust with your stakeholders.
