As the year-end reporting requirements approach, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires Applicable Large Employers (ALE’s are 50 or more Full-Time Equivalent Employees) to report health insurance information on Form 1095-C to employees by March 2, 2017.

Employers who are subject to the reporting requirements and compliance have been tracking the information throughout the year.

There have been many reports after Donald Trump was elected President in November that the ACA will get repealed, or at the very least revised. There certainly may be some revisions coming from the ACA in the future, but that does not mean the reporting requirements and compliance does not need to be followed in 2017. As you look forward to 2017, you will need to continue to track and monitor all the compliance requirements attributable to the ACA for ALE’s. As we all know, potential changes in laws can take significant time to be finalized.

We will continue to keep you posted regarding any changes to the ACA, and how those changes apply to you. As you move into 2017, you will need to continue to follow all the compliance related to the ACA.
